All of our physicians at Asthma, Allergy and Immunoly are Board Certified in pediatric and adult allergy by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. Only physicians who are Diplomats of the ABAI can rightly claim the title of Allergist. In order to become a Board Certified Allergist both Dr. Kern and Dr. Murphy completed four years of medical school and then three years of residency in pediatrics or internal medicine. After being Board Certified in pediatrics or internal medicine they completed an additional two-year fellowship in pediatric and adult allergy and clinical immunology. Only after completing this extensive training were they eligible to sit for the Allergy Boards and become Board Certified in Pediatric and Adult Allergy.
